What is a Recovery Key? ​

Your Recovery Key is your backup if you lose your PIN or email access. It is a secure file you save to your device.

You can set up and export your Recovery Key from AIR Wallet settings or at air3.com/recovery.

Important: Without a Recovery Key, you may not be able to reset your PIN yourself. We strongly recommend setting one up and storing it somewhere safe.

Why should I set up a Recovery Key? ​

Your Recovery Key lets you recover access on your own if:

  • You forget your PIN
  • You lose access to your email
  • You lose access to both your PIN and email

How do I set up a Recovery Key? ​

Before you start: Have your PIN ready. Setup takes a few minutes.

  1. Open AIR Wallet settings or go to air3.com/recovery
  2. Select Manage Account Recovery Key
  3. Follow the on-screen steps to create your Recovery Key
  4. Enter your PIN when prompted
  5. Save the Recovery Key file to your device
  6. Confirm that you have stored it safely

You may add an optional password to protect your Recovery Key file. If you set a password, you will need it when you import the Recovery Key later.

How should I store my Recovery Key? ​

You are responsible for keeping your Recovery Key secure.

  • Store it somewhere safe and private
  • Do not share it with anyone
  • Do not store it only on the same device you use for daily wallet access, if possible
  • Remember your Recovery Key password if you set one

AIR and Moca cannot retrieve your Recovery Key file or Recovery Key password for you.

What if I already have a Recovery Key? ​

If you already set up a Recovery Key, you can keep using it.

If you lose access to your Recovery Key file but still have your email and PIN, open Manage Account Recovery Key and select Create a new one instead. Creating a new Recovery Key will invalidate the previous one.

What can I use my Recovery Key for? ​

You can use your Recovery Key to:

  • Reset your PIN if you forget it
  • Recover your account if you lose access to your email
  • Recover your account if you lose access to both your PIN and email
